St. Edward’s University to Host Texas Esports Conference Fall Playoffs and Finals Dec 5
AUSTIN, Texas (October 21, 2026): St. Edward's University Esports will host the Texas Esports Conference Fall Playoffs and Finals on Saturday, December 5, 2026, in the St. Andre-East Multi-Purpose Room in the university's Pavilions.
It is the first fall final in the conference's history. The Texas Esports Conference is the high school competition of the Texas Esports Collective (TEC), a Texas nonprofit. Its fall season opened September 28 with six weeks of online match nights in VALORANT, Rocket League, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Member schools this fall range from Lubbock to Laredo, and December 5 is the whole fall postseason in a single day.
"St. Edward's University Esports is excited to host the first fall final for the Texas Esports Conference!" said Tony Zhong, Esports Director at St. Edward's University. "Austin sits right at the halfway point between DFW and Laredo, and we are proud to welcome Texas's top high school players, coaches, and families to the Hilltop to experience a full day of live LAN finals."
"Our first fall final belongs on a college campus," said Aaron Jaggers, founder of the Texas Esports Collective. "Our players get to compete where a college program trains and see what the next level looks like up close. Tony and St. Edward's have built that program on the Hilltop, and we're grateful they're opening it to Texas high school players and their families."
The spring season begins January 11 with nine match weeks, an in-person playoff day on April 17, and a championship on May 8, 2027.

When: Saturday, December 5, 2026. Check-in opens at 11:00 AM, a light welcome lunch runs 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, play begins at 12:30 PM, and awards are at 5:30 PM (all times Central).
